Our sites are kept as natural as possible and as a result the children will learn, with our gentle guidance how to manage themselves while they play, explore and learn.

We follow six principles of Forest School when delivering our sessions, for parents and their babies through to 5-13 year olds.

Activities.

  • Forest school and Bushcraft Any age Stay & Play

    Now taking bookings: Two hour sessions for parents and their children This session is aimed at Pre-schoolers and Home Educated children or those on a reduced timetable.

    Any age Stay & Play allows families to explore the outdoors, learn about their environment and encourage adventurous play. We provide a safe and supportive environment where parents are given tips and techniques to support and encourage their children to manage their own risk and in turn increase their own confidence and independence through play. This session is aimed at Pre-schoolers and Home Educated children or those on a reduced timetable.

    The group is relaxed with your child’s play interests at heart; there is a range of exploration, physical play, natural sensory play, a nature craft to take home along with the opportunity to learn Bushcraft skills.

    Home Ed children can log their learning of Bushcraft skills and work towards the "Forest Explorers Bushcraft awards" during the sessions.

    Free hot and cold drinks for all participants and a fire snack for you both are provided and a snack for you to enjoy at the campfire during each session

    £10 per session , sibling tickets £7.50

    Discounted course tickets are also available

  • Holiday Club

    Now taking bookings for the Easter and May half term holidays. Full day sessions for 5-14 year olds during school holidays, from 9am to 5pm.

    Following the Forest school principles there will be a range of activities on offer for children to take part in throughout the day including free play, craft activities including the use of tools, plant & wildlife identification, foraging, cooking & fire-lighting. These longer sessions allow children to get more hands-on involvement, for example by helping with the preparation and cooking of lunch or to focus on larger crafting projects such as carving, building & rope work. Drinks, hot lunch and snacks are included.

    £45 per session (or save 10% when booking 6 or more sessions)

  • Viking and Anglo-Saxon History day

    We can deliver Viking and Anglo-Saxon history days either at one of our woodland sites or at your school.

    Our day is a great great mix of learning and activity to suit all learning styles.

    We have a range of pre-prepared classroom activities along with practical living history items for your class to look at and handle.

    We can help bring to life the way Vikings lived fought and worshiped. With period cooking equipment and recipes, Textile manufacturing, Blacksmithing, wood working, personal items and arms and armour.

    We can also train your class to use shield, sword, axe and spear to fight in a shield wall.

  • 3 Counties Bushcraft Group meets

    We are proud to host the 3 Counties Bushcraft group (Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire and Lincolnshire) for their monthly weekend Bushcraft camps.

    The 3 Counties Bushcraft Group are a free to join Facebook group who practice bushcraft and wild camping.

    The Group meets run from Friday evening to Sunday afternoon at our Stapleford woods site. The weekend is a chance for people to get together, camp with friends and practice bushcraft skills.

    The site has the following amenities; Sheltered fire area, large covered table and benches, composting toilet and we provide waste disposal and fresh water for washing and drinking over the weekend.

    £10 per adult per night, £5 for under 16’s

  • Forest School parties

    We can arrange Forest School style birthday parties on request.

    A standard party would include 2 hours exclusive use of one of our woodland sites for up to 12 children. The site will have hammocks , a climbing net, slack-line, swing and Den building area. We will also have a seasonal nature biased crafting activity. During the sess on we will teach the group traditional fire lighting skills and cook a campfire snack.

    We provide hot and cold drinks for the children any any attending adults throughout the session.

    You are welcome to bring your own party food or snacks and we have a 3m table and benches on site for you to use.

    Alternatively we can provide food, additional time or extra places at an aggreged cost.
